Class Descriptions

Puppy Kindergarten

So you just got your new puppy, and he is a little crazy. You know that he is going to need some training but are unsure of where to start. Well, you have found the right spot. Ironclad K9 Academy will have you in control in no time.

In this class new owners and puppies are guided very gently through various exercises. You are taught about correct equipment and its proper use and puppies are encouraged to socialize with other puppies and handlers. Early socialization is all-important to the future development of your dog. This class also introduces basic obedience work that includes teaching your puppy to walk on a lead, sit, stand, some turns and to come when called on lead, known as the recall. In this class the dog / handler team will learn problem solving such as crate training, house breaking, counter surfing & aggression issues. Dogs graduating from this class should attend the beginner obedience class.

This class is currently under reconstruction!

 Beginner Obedience

This class is also a forum for problem solving for the dog / handler team such as crate training, house breaking, counter surfing & aggression issues just to name a few.

At the end of this class, your certificate and a note from the instructor would allow you to be eligible  for entry into the Happy Tails classes.  This class is not offered by us, but is taught at our Woodstock facility by trained Happy Tails instructors.  An obedience class certificate and completion of the Happy Tails program is required by most facilities in order to visit with your pet in geriatric/children/special needs facilities.
